From our luminous collection of bells & bones to yours— Happy Holidaze.
Thank you for being with us through 2023 in creative rapture, curious awe, tender care & brave play.
We’ve been writing poetry & casting spells in the long nights of winter— also known as playing games. Here: We drew tarot cards for an end-of-year message. Next, we wrote a poem for this message and cut it up into chain-link-garland to hang on the tree.
My friend Erika Joy reminds me of what’s important in a sweet email exchange & I write it on a card… (listening to This Jungian Life talk about Solstice & how bears give birth in their sleep…IN THEIR SLEEP!!)
My bestie Stud’s grandpa used to make the most amazing pfeffernusse cookies and send them down at the time we would descend on her mom’s house for Christmas — 20+ years later, I finally made my own and they are rapturous!
To wrap my mind around things, I went back through all the notebooks I’ve been living in during 2023 & marked all the poetry… I wrote about 120 poems this year! Mostly pantoum. I look forward to reflecting on this later…
I love spending the end of the year in my notebook— I only have a couple pages left in this one. Neon & I have been circling up morning and night to write end-of-year poems in our books for the last several days…
Receiving: I’ve loved participating in a bunch of other artist’s writing prompts and draw-alongs this month! Here, fun drawing with Beth Spencer’s Introvert Drawing Club — “Fast Faces” (and some cat studies, cuz I love lookin’ at cats). During the session she said, “You don’t have to go through all the steps!” and I thought: perfect.
And join me for a quiet moment under a pile of blankets by a bucket of pens and a sleepy kitten—
Enough for 2023. Until January— I’ll be here: resting.

Instead of reading a letter from me next week, I recommend that you: Write about your dreams, invent a new soup, care for yourself like a newborn child.
Thank you so much for hanging out with me, friends. I’ll see you soon.
Tap, tap! Love this, and love you. Blessed return 💫😚 may your days be joyous and cozy
Love this. Happy Birthday and happy end of year to you. Much love to you both
