Neon took this video while we were on one of our daily walks. Looped several times, birds and all, this audio is the drone repeating beneath everything you hear in the Oracle Line transmission. Can you pick it out?

Though close to us, the trail leading up to this spot had been closed for construction forever — so we didn’t know this building was back there. Strolling down the fresh path, through a winding wetland that feeds into the Raccoon River, we suddenly heard the CRAZIEST SOUNDS on the wind and had to investigate.

We make audio recordings around town constantly, actually, and are always listening for neat stuff. I told you about the singing sluice actuator down by the dam, right?:
