I’m stoked.
This is the weekend we’ve been waiting for:
Farmer’s Market season opener!!!!
Since moving to Des Moines two years ago (TWO?? HOW?) we’ve learned a couple things—
“Feels Like -35°” really, really does feel like -35°…
Life starts on the first weekend of May.
Beginning tomorrow we will be swept up in a near constant street fair, festival, farmer’s market, concert, parade. Folks go hard every day of the week from now until fall descends again. We just barely have leaves on the trees and it’s time to p-a-r-t-y.
This also means I’m kicking off plein air season— and I can’t wait to take my watercolors outside again. But I’ve been partying inside in the meantime & all I want to make are flowers, flowers, flowers!
So by this time tomorrow Neon & I will be filling our bags with beautiful edge-season produce (gimme all yer chives & mushrooms!!) and smiling ear-to-ear witnessing all the life finally returning to the streets of Des Moines. Folks get all dressed up cute to be seen at the massive farmer’s market here and I just love that.
And then by this time on Sunday I will be gearing up to make poetry with you on the Vision Train!
This sounds like a very good weekend in my book.
See you Sunday if you’re not out blowin’ in the wind! What’s making you very happy this week?
It was a pleasure to join last week. Catching up on your newsletters...delightful to see how your flowers tremble and flow.
