The sun is out and the humidity is low, which finds me here, lookin’ like this.
It’s drawing-outside season, finally. And thinking outside season. And walking to the farmers’ market season!!!
I’ve been goin’ non-stop with travel, work and art — and hoppin’ on a plane tonight to do more! So much good stuff…it’s shaping up to be an incredible summer & I look forward to sharing a bunch of cool shit soon.
In the meantime— Here’s some of what’s been goin’ on in my world…
…bff & i at our first ani difranco concert in 1998 & last month in massachusetts… like the rest of the crowd, we were old and sleepy 😅
i made this b-day portrait of bestie’s bebe and got to hand deliver it to the sweetie pie herself ❤️
neon & grandma at our show opening last month— “Eclipse” the iris and neon’s “Sysygy” are back at home now and it feels great to have them back in our space! our walls looked so empty without them…
speaking of irises: THEY’RE IN BLOOM!!! our buddy lee texted as soon as they popped up and we made a date to draw in their front yard. a lovely way to spend an afternoon and meet all the neighbors!
i mean!!!!
measuring springs in iowa by the growing stash of iris sketches…
i also painted cheevo- the good cat- who rarely makes it into this newsletter because she’s just off being an angel while sigil is terrorizing me…
okay, he’s actually great, too.
A prompt for you today…
Take your art outside— go write with an oak tree, draw the tiniest flower you can find, read a graphic novel next to an azalea bush, stare at the light dancing on some water until you feel your shoulders drop…
