“Image Word Mystery is a force that allows my inner child to run wild!” - Brittney Monster

“I love how the gatherings and prompts take me out of what I (unconsciously) believe art making ‘should be’ and I can simply allow myself to flow creatively.” - Vasalisa

“The intensity of the live sessions matched with the depth of the assignments made for an experience that…resulted in a whole body of new work.”  - Cori Caat

Welcome to Image Word Mystery

This is a sacred creative home where we use the power of ritual creative play to make meaning and myth of our lives in disorienting times.

Wherever you are in your creative journey, whether you’re a writer, a visual artist, a musician— or someone who says, “I wish I was more creative!”— I invite you to grab your sketchbooks & some markers and step into ecstatic practice, playful discovery & liberated flow with me…

…Because I know that creativity is not exceptional— it is primary and necessary.

At Image Word Mystery, we tap into this innate source by playing games and partaking in improvisation practices (like co-writing poetry line-by-line,  using homemade oracle cards to to tell our life stories, and drawing one another’s dreams) designed to lift your creative power out of the mundane and into your own ecstatic discovery.

Participant work (l to r): Hannah Williams (top), Brittney Monster (bottom), Cori Caat & Lauren Blair
