This Saturday is the last installment of the “Lighting Your Inner Lantern” series where we’ve been playing with this deep-human symbol in our sketchbooks.

Imagine the day our ancient ancestors’ ancestors first picked fire up from the ground and carried it with them to move through the moonless night…

And how many common metaphors embedded in the symbol of “lantern” can you list, right now?

Every culture around the world and across human-time has attached meaning to this symbol. Why?

Since January, we’ve visualized our unique inner lanterns and given them form and color and poetry…

We’ve sampled the symbolic potency of lamposts and lighthouses…

We’ve walked with The Hermit’s lantern on our own far-mountain…

And now— can we bring the Hermit home?

Where do we take our lantern-light now?

That’s what we’ll be playing with this Saturday: Grab your sketchbooks or loose paper and your pens and pencils or crayons or watercolors and get comfy for some free-wheeling symbolic creative play!
