Oh, social media — the wireless needle jammed into the vein of our attention! How seductive you are, making addicts and consumers of even the most strategic and self-aware of us. Thank you for you spacious and syncronistic Substack post, Lisette — I spent a yard of yesterday listening to and reading the thoughts of Jaron Lanier, specifically his thoughts on the ills of social media. Connecting with you and other similarly conscious, compassionate creatives has been a welcome shift from so-called social into truly relational space. I appreciate how you're expanding spacetime for yourself and inspiring everyone around you to, too. The other synchronicity — one I'm surprised that we hadn't discussed before now! — is that my mantra over the past year or so has been, "If you're consuming, you're not creating." Yours is more active and less admonishing, but how eerily similar they are!

Well don’t that just beat all?! I knew we had more than just searingly witty banter, unending curiosity and the conviction that we can solve enormous problems in common, Miles! *googling Jaron Lanier now while also expanding spacetime * The “truly relational space” is the real antidote. You’re so right. Thanks for truly relating with me this year- your friendship and thought-ship have anchored me throughout! ⚓️

Great summary! I didn't even think of looking for patterns among the 10 as you did. Flow, grow, co? Do, crew, Qs?

I love everything about this Lisette. And I actually created before I consumed this morning, so now I’m patting myself on the back after reading this! (No emoji for that, oh wait, gold ⭐️) When I’m not on my phone with its tiny buttons, I’ll answer your good questions.
