“Who am I when I’m not sick and worried?”

F*ck. I felt that. Who am I without the endless rushes of cortisol? Was I ever that? What did it feel like?

Ohhhhh Brittney, you're singing the Hymn of My Inner Lamentress! And I'm wrapping you in a big patchouli hug!! I see your light, girl. I feel that cortisol, too.

Thanks for defining the darkness today, let’s go on and defy it 🔥

That is a very beautiful, haunting, soulful piece of writing. Why is it what comes out in the middle of the night that is the most truthful? Be well my friend. Hugs from Canada. xo

First, I love your art-at-the-start. Such incredible detail, expression, perspectives (those light-beaming skulls!), earthy color palette, and type/drawn border.

I hope you're feeling better. It's been a lot recently, and you deserve more worry-free moments. And thank you for your vulnerability. It gives me permission to feel what you are feeling in my way, and to acknowledge my own mind-body pain. I so feel your yes/nos and 'should'-ing—the contradictions are relentless.

Honestly, I have no idea if I ever see myself clearly. I'd like to think I'm aware of my pros and cons, but there's always another perspective—mine or another's—fogging up my window.

Now I'm singing "Life Is A Highway" in my head, but replacing it with "...Foggy Window"---

"Life is a foggy wiiiindowwwwww/ I wanna see where I'm go-o-iiiiing/ If you're goin' my wayyyy/ Get used to not knooow-ooow-iiiing.... "

The "shoulds" in all their contradictions are endless, it's true. Even knowing this, it's amazing how much the human being craves the absolute and looks for concrete answers... This human being does!

Glad you dig the art-- lovely Hannah from Creative Partnership Circle commissioned that as part of a collection of Baba Yaga inspired work. I'd love to paint that piece at human scale...

Oh no...that song is an impossible-to-remove earworm. It also brings up cyclical imagery of "Cars" for me.

Full scale would be awesome, like A&A Grey's Chapel paintings.

We sure do! Gotta 'know the answer.' The good thing is that we're in creative realms, where we get to decide a chunk o' thank. Now, about being that kind of creative in life design...
